Birdcage card...

I cannot tell a lie...ANOTHER CASE, from Joanie. *Throwing a snowball at ya, girl*

Can you see that the birdcage has been popped out with Dimensionals?
Stamps: I used a retired Hostess Set, but, you could use #116956, Aviary--sentiment is a retired SAB set--sowwy
Ink: Basic Black
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Retired DSP--gotta ♥ that CLEARANCE RACK!Tools: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Large Scallop Circle Punch, Big Shot {I ♥}, BIGZ DIE, Scallop Squares Duo--from the Holiday Mini Catalog, XL Decorative Lable Punch--from the Holiday Mini Catalog also (CONTACT ME FOR AVAILABILITY), Curly Label XL Punch, TableTop Cutter--I ♥ it!, Paper Snips, Sponge, Dimensionals, Paper Piercer, Snail Adhesive

It was BRRRR-COLD here overnight! Windchill was at 5°. It is supposed to be even colder tonight, since, there will be no cloud cover....
I have 5 family members in 3 different vehicles braving the snowy, icy mountain roads this afternoon! ACK
The roads are all open (Yesterday, they had roads closed all over the place!), but, they will be treacherous, and slow-going! Oh, the joy of living on the mountain! hehehe
My mom and I went out -- at the last minute -- to go to my nephew/her grandsons baby shower. Surprisingly, there was a houseful. The games were fun, and I DID win a couple things! A fun game was guessing which CANDY BAR was in the POOPY diaper! HA HA! Some even tasted! ACK!

Happy New Year! Be Merry and SAFE!

My Big Shot {I♥} got a workout on these!
If you need more information on these, just ask. The ribbon was from the CLEARANCE RACK. There's still LOTS of ribbons available there!

2010 Christmas Card

Here is one of the Christmas Cards I made for 2010.

I LOVED making these and everyone that received them really seemed to love them, too!
I always make an effort to watch 'Charlie Brown's Christmas' show each year. I love it!
It gets me when he finds that lil tree and says "I think it needs me!"

Here is my inspiration.
I ♥ MY PUNCHES! Go get you some on my Stampin' Up! STORE Website! And, don't forget to check out the CLEARANCE RACK, while you are there!

Don't forget to leave me a comment *from the FIRST POST on this page* for your entry into the BLOG CANDY.

Vintage-y Ornament

I fell in love with this!

So, I made more! It's that 'multiple' thing, again! LOVE it!

I ran some *retired* RED RIDING HOOD TEXTURED cardstock through my BIG SHOT {I ♥} using the SCALLOP CIRCLE DIE. Distressed the edges with a SPONGE piece and BASIC BLACK INK. I layered a piece of distressed LOVE LETTER DSP {I ♥} that I ran through the BIG SHOT and the CLEAR CIRCLE DIE. I punched a ROUND TAB XL out of RED RIDING HOOD TEXTURED cardstock, folded in half with a piece of *retired* SILVER ELASTIC THREAD glued into it, and adhered that to the top. I stamped the PEACE LOVE JOY onto VERY VANILLA cs with VERSAMARK, then, embossed it with BLACK EMBOSSING POWDER. --oops, on the top one...I almost burned it! But, it looks cool, huh? Punched it out with the WIDE OVAL PUNCH. I used SNAIL adhesive on the backside of the oval piece so I could attach a piece of the CLEAR TINSEL TRIM. Popped that up with DIMENSIONALS to a BASIC BLACK-SCALLOP CIRCLE, that was also popped up with DIMENSONALS. I attached various colors of snowflakes cut with the NORTHERN FROST Decortative Strip Die, using BLACK RHINESTONES from the HOLIDAY MINI, and RED GLIMMER BRADS in the centers. have clear tinsel, CHANTILLY CROCHET TRIM, and black lace sprinkled here and there under the snowflakes. I attached a string of silver jingle bells on top, and laid a strip of the tinsel on top, making sure it was about 2-3" above the top of the ornament. I made a bow the RED RIDING HOOD/VANILLA Striped Ribbon from the CLEARANCE RACK {I♥}. I stuck a piece of the  RAVEN 1/2" LACE TRIM through the middle of the bow and used a *retired* LARGE POP-UP GLUE DOT to attach it over the jingle bell/tinsel.
This was pretty much 'out of my box', but, I really like them, and so do all the recepients.
I got my inspiration HERE.

Cute Pop-Up Box

Isn't this just too cute?!?

I use the BIG SHOT {I ♥} and the MATCHBOX DIE, to cut out my box in REAL RED, and, used some *retired* SU DSP for the wrap-around part. I stamped that cute snowman from the OLD SAINT NICK stamp set, with BASIC BLACK ink, and used some markers to color him in a bit. I used a little DAZZLING DIAMNODS on the TWO-WAY GLUE PEN, to give the snow mounds some bling. I also used some 1/4" OLD OLIVE GROSGRAIN RIBBON for the lil handle. On top, I stamped out 2 images from PERFECT PUNCHES---one in REAL RED, and one in OLD OLIVE. I punched them out and used DIMENSIONALS to pop them both up.
Bet you make some, too!
Here is where I got my inspiration. She will show you how to make the snowman POP! *wink*

Catalog CASE

I 'stalk' this blog, and saw what she did with the card idea from the 2010-2011 IBC. I loved it, so, the copy-kat that I am, I CASE'd her! BUT, I did change it up a bit...the amount of letters works perfect for the FRIEND as well as MOTHER. I'm sure you can think of others. This was a fun card! Although, I am so anal, that I like to make MULTIPLES! So, it was a challenge making 6 each of FRIEND, COUSIN and MOTHER---gotcha....I only did one mother! hehehe

I will be looking at the catalog alot closer now. There's some good stuff in there! LOL
I used the TINY TAGS set and the TAG punch {I ♥ that punch} I think the rest of the card is pretty self explantory.

DING DONG...who's there?

I LOVE these! And, I LOVE Ding Dongs....nice that they were on sale the week I made these, too!
I have been giving these out to people I do business with on a daily basis. They LOVE the little 'thinking of them' thing!
I just got my TASTEFUL TRIM die, so, that came is REAL handy for the ric rac. I used SOFT SUEDE, REAL RED and WHISPER WHITE cardstock, REAL RED 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, SMALL HEART PUNCH, 2 1/2" CIRCLE PUNCH, 1 1/4" CIRCLE PUNCH *for the mouth*, and the OWL PUNCH for the eyes.
I got my inspiration here.
I plan on making more this week *if I can quit eating them*, so, I can hand them to people I see during the week. I love to see them smile when I hand it to them.

BIG on Christmas

This card is what the CLUB did this past Saturday. I have had this stamp set since *gasp* last year and never inked it up at all.
This is a card I saw online, and don't remember who made it. If it is yours, please let me know and I will give credits.

I inked the jumbo roller, JOLLY JINGLES, with MARINA MIST onto MARINA MIST cardstock. The BIG ON CHRISTMAS image was stamped on WHISPER WHITE cardstock with STAZ-ON ink twice. The snowman was cut out and popped up with a DIMENSIONAL. The letters were colored with a MARINA MIST marker, and the snowman was done with other colors. I used a strip of STICKY STRIP under the image and sprinkled some of the CHUNKY GLITTER, pressed down with my finger. *LOVE this stuff!* The image piece was layered onto REAL RED cardstock. I put a cute knot bow, with BLUSHING BRIDE 1/2" STITCHED POLY RIBBON, around the card front and used DIMENSIONALS to pop the image piece over the ribbon.

Now, if it would just SNOW! We are Sooooo dry here. I don't know when Sunrise Ski Resort will get to open, and our forest sure could use the moisture. I would be surprised if we had a 'White Christmas' around here, but, you never know...
Are you surprised about snowing in AZ? LOL We live in the Apache Sitgreaves Forest area, at 7100' elevation, on the AZ/NM border. LOVE it here......it is definitely NOT desert here!

I did make a card...

Sometimes, I feel like such a slacker.....I seem to CASE *copy and share everything* ALOT of things I see. I guess it's not all bad, but, I am not the type of crafter to come up with anything new and different.
SO! I am kinda happy with myself about this card. I wanted to show my CLUB ladies how to stamp with the clear block and also how to do this different technique with the ribbon.

I inked the 'H' block with OLD OLIVE and misted it before stamping the WHISPER WHITE cardstock.
I stamped the tree image, from LOVELY AS A TREE with OLD OLIVE, then, again with EARLY ESPRESSO. I put a strip of RED STICKY STRIP under the tree image, from edge to edge. Then, I laid my OLD OLIVE SATIN RIBBON over the tape, using my finger to 'ruffle' it as I went. I added a Large CHOCOLATE CHIP BRAD and stamped the sentiment, from TEENY TINY WISHES, in EARLY ESPRESSO. This was layered onto OLD OLIVE cardstock.
The ladies were very happy with it...and so am I.

A quick wreath

Here's a wreath I made in record time. I needed a Christmasy wreath for the front door of the 'little house', for our Saturday Club workshop.

I had this lighted wreath from a couple of years back, that I bought for like $1.25 after Christmas-sale.
I used white foam and my beloved BIG SHOT and cut out the snowflakes and Peace-Joy-Love-Cheer with the dies. I made a few bows from that WONDERFUL Red Polka-Dotted ribbon, from the CLEARANCE RACK and attached them. I stuck a few rhinestones on the snowflake centers and TA DA!
I had one large ACRYLIC snowflake from my inside decorations, so, I decided to use that in the center of the wreath, too.
Now, that I see the picture of it, I see some tweaking needs to be done, but, you get the gerneral idea!
Have you made a wreath this year? I'd love to see a picture of it. Please leave me a comment with your blog link. Thanks!
Time to go rack the limbs and leaves out of the yard. We are having unseasonably weather! Love it!

???

I left the house after dark on a mission....
I had a FREE Dairy Queen Blizzard coupon I wanted to use..actually, B1/1F *sign up for their email and you'll get monthly coupons in your inbox*. It's always been a tradition to watch the Christmas Light Parade and have DQ while we sit in the car and try to stay warm!! Since, I was the only one home, I brought one home and stuck in the freezer for later...yummy...TWO for me! hehehe

As I was backing out to leave for the parade, I noticed that the big lighted star on the mountain wasn't there! OH NO! What's happened to the star this year?!? The past 2 years it's been a 'light of hope', and source of community spirit, for the month of December. This was an old town tradition that was lost along the way, until an older town resident built the new frame of the star and got some local supporters to help with the project. The boys from high school take turns -- several at a time -- trekking up the rough terrain, to the top, sometimes, in horrendous weather, with a 5 gallon container of diesel for the generator that lights it. They do this each night, and the star stays lit until the fuel is gone.  (They had to take all the equipment and star up by horsedrawn wagon, because it's so rugged!)

I found my spot that I wanted to watch the parade, ate my CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH Blizzard and waited about 30 minutes for the parade! YAY!!!! So cheerful is the Christmas Light Parade.
The neighbors down the road were the first entrant...now I know what that BUTT UGLY 'thing' in their driveway had been! It looked like a chopped up bus, with only a flatbed with the very front intact. But, it sure looked different in the dark night, all lit up with colorful Christmas lights as a Christmas sleigh!
*I barely got out in time to get a picture of the back-end of it*

There was the Christmas Tree, and Frosty the Snowman-they have been in the parade for years now.
Too cute, they are lighted frames of the images.....on ATV's! They go in and out, and round and round!
There were a couple of lighted 'dollhouses, and Santa on the fire truck. The DUI task force had a show of force, but, the thing that I thought was too cute, were the dancing elves and Christmas packages! LOL
Those kids would surely burn off a ton of calories, running, skipping and just being FUN for 6 miles!
All of a sudden, it was OVER!!!
5 MINUTES...I know because I specifically looked at the clock when the first float went by.
Five minutes......oh, well, it was fun, and I did enjoy it....oh, and it was 49 degrees! HA!
I don't think it's ever been that warm for the Christmas parade!

BUT, the highlight of the night was, as I drove towards home.....guess what I saw?
THE BIG TOWN STAR!
Oh, now I am definitely getting into the Christmas spirit! Even though, I've been fighting it....
Now, I can check my windows each night for the star. We are lucky that the star is just up the hill from our house! So close! This picture is from the first year. When I saw it the first time, there was no announcement of it, and I was scared to death! I thought a UFO had landed on the mountain!

HERE I AM!!!

Holy Moly! I suppose anyone reading this, in the recent past, thought I had died!
I had such a BUSY summer and on the go so much, I didn't have time to think straight!
I have pictures of some of the fun things I did this summer, that I'll share. And, some project pictures to show.

Mom and I went to Iowa *3rd year in a row* and between that trip and back and forth between my moms house and where hubby is working now, I only slept in my own bed for a total of 16 nights, between the day after Labor Day and November 10, last Wednesday, when I came home, again.
I am W.O.R.E out! 2 months of non-stop GO GO GO~

I did have a workshop/class at the 'little house' Saturday! My poor ladies were sure missin' me! LOL And, I missed them, too! They all are so sweet. We hadn't met since AUGUST! We even celebrated one of the ladies birthday that day, complete with cupcakes from Safeway, a few gifties for her and some singing! LOL

Busy, busy!

Well, I am so busy, that crafting isnt lookin' good for today...or for awhile, either. I am finishing up laundry and have to deliver Avon, and get an SU Club order finished. I am leaving town again until mid-week of next week! ACK~
So, I'm showing you a photo of a card my monthly card group made a bit ago, with one of the Summer Mini stamps, the Motorcylce stamp...love this! This card is pretty self-explanatory, but, if you have questions, leave me a comment. I did start with an 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card piece and just scored and folded it at 2 1/8". I beleive this is called a gate fold card. When you are attaching your image piece, just make sure and only adhere to one side.

Home...

Ahhh, Home again, home again....cool air! I love the drive home this time of year. Bee-utiful! It only took me 3 hours and 20 minutes, and that was with 2 pit stops *yes, I do pee along the side of the road----where else ya gonna go?*, and multiple stops for picture taking.
This first picture is coming up the mountain....the desert is sure nice and green this year! My trip starts at about 2900'..... windy mountain roads! Today I saw a TINY little fawn and her mama...I saw it last trip also...in the same spot! The little guy was only about 18 inches tall! I don't know what type they are-I've never seen such small ones, but, they were too fast for me to get my camera. Maybe next time...

Below is around Alpine, AZ--8500+ foot elevation.
Below is coming down Picnic Hill into town...Love the green!
Coming into 'round town' or what we call Round Valley...awesome clouds! 7100 foot elevation.
Finally, HOME! I was sure glad to see it!
I need to take the red, white and blue off the fence already! LOL
I got home at 1:30, unloaded, did 7 of the 9 loads of laundry, which I hung out on the line to dry---brought the trailer rugs, bedding and hubby's work clothes---, mowed the front and back yards.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll have some time to do some CRAFTING!!! After I get my AVON order delivered.

...I wanna go home...

I left the mountain Friday morning, to go to my moms in Willcox. Hubby got transferred from his job 6 hours away to another town, only 3 hours and 15 minutes away...AND, it's on the way to my moms. He had a L.O.N.G week staying in a motel room. He didn't want to move the trailer until his welding tests all passed, etc. I picked him up after he got off work and we found a trailer space. H.O.T---I do NOT know how my hubby works *WELDS* in the heat! Poor guy! Then, after we got that all done, we went to my moms 45 minutes away.
Saturday, we went to pick up the trailer 2 hours from moms...H.O.T. 110 degrees HOT! It did start to cool down when we pulled out with the trailer. The trailer park we left ended up getting TWO inches of rain in an hour!! That's whatcha call a cloudburst!
Here, you can see the storm moving in...
I had hubby stop so I could get a few of these fruit from a prickley pear cactus. Mom and I are planning on making some PP jelly next weekend. Hope they will be ripe by then.
Hubby and #1 son used to eat here occassionally....hubbys idea for the picture! *rolling eyeballs*
We parked the truck and trailer in front of moms Saturday night. She had BBQ hamburgers ready for us and I did up some of hubby's laundry.
Sunday, we pulled the trailer over to the trailer space we had found and got it all set up.
Parking that 32 foot trailer is like cutting your bangs! First you gotta straighten one side, then, you gotta straighten the other side! It drives me crazy! But, hubby likes it STRAIGHT! hehehe

Today, I went and did some shopping, and checked the scrapbook store in town. Gotta get that important stuff done, ya know! LOL It was 107 degrees at 11:30 am....and just think....today, the high at home was 79 degrees!
Tomorrow, I'm going H.O.M.E!
Thanks for your visit! SherryBee in AZ

It is FINISHED!

Since I also LOVE to crochet, you'll see me bragging on myself and showing my thread and yarn projects. I fall asleep if I try to watch TV at night, so, I keep my hands busy and I usually can stay awake....usually, but, not always! I tease hubby and tell him that he should be glad I crochet...it keeps me off the streets while he is gone! HA!
I finally finished this flag afghan and mailed it to a sweet online friend in North Carolina.
Funny how you can develop such deep friendships through the wonderful world of the web!
I met Lynne, in a friendship group about 4(?) years ago. We just kind of hit it off and we developed a great friendship with many L.O.N.G phone calls, emails and cards/letters. I got a late night phone call last April 25th from Lynne. Her 26 year old son was killed in a vehicle accident while he was on duty as a Sherriff's Deputy. He was also recently out of the military. Just a great person and citizen.....
She asked me last summer if I would make her a flag afghan for the back of her couch. The afghan itself was no problem, but, I dreaded doing the stars and put it up 'for awhile'. Finally, night after night, I got the stars done. I just put it in the mail on the 18th of August. It truly was a 'labor of love'.
If you are a prayer warrior, please say a prayer for Lynne....she is still having a rough time dealing with her sons death, as any mother would.

Patriotic Card Idea..

This was a card we did at the May Card Class. This is a basic Red, White & Blue card. There is plenty of room for 'tweaking' it for more embellishments. On darker cardstock cards, I always have something white on the inside to write on...usually, it's a top note {I♥}.

Another Card Class card...

Isn't this a cute watermelon card?
I case'd this card from someone online--if you know who did it or if it's yours, please let me know, so, I can give you credit for this idea.

This was a bit of a detailed card, but, the ladies enjoyed it.
If you are a visual person, most of the card is self-explainatory.
The black seeds on the front of the card were made with the word window punch, and trimmed at an angle to get two seeds from one punch. Make sense?
On the small inside watermelons, I trimmed a red 1" circle down a tad to layer onto the white.

Another Class card...

I LOVE this card!
I found the pattern online a couple years ago and finally got around to making one! The girls loved it! Some put the bikini bottom on the very back of the card.
You can get the bikini template :HERE:
If you make one or some of these, I'd love to see what you come up with!

Class Project

Here is one of the cards we made Saturday, the 14th, at the 'little house'.
When I was cutting out the crumb cake top note piece for another project I'll show you soon,
I had ALL these leftovers.
Then, the light bulb came on, and inspiration struck!
hehehe That doesn't happen too often, since I mostly CASE.
I wanted to show my ladies how to make the clouds. They LOVED it!
This set JUST BELIEVE is my favorite set from the new IBC.

To make the clouds you just punch out a scallop circle piece, use a cloud color on a sponge piece and dab the color on top of the edge of the circle, move the circle over and dab some more until you are happy with the results.
My pink butterfly 'flew' way up there!
Actually, she is covering a boo-boo!
Oops! There are no boo-boos, right!?!
The oval sentiment looked better on TWO night of navy punches, versus one cut in half, with the white sentiment piece centered on top. The little rhinestone just seemed to finish the whole card off a bit.
LOVE those rhinestones that are new in the IBC, also the pearls!!

Round Valley Animal Rescue

July 20th, a few of my card group ladies got together and created some cards to 'gift' the newly-formed Round Valley Animal Rescue.
We created about 10 cards each and one of our ladies, Becky, who is a member of RVAR, presented the foundation with our newly created cards. We all had a great time together, at the 'little' house, doing a civic-minded activity.
Here are a few pictures for you.
