My downline, Jennifer and I went to see HUNGER GAMES yesterday! AWESOME!!! She got me all 3 books for my birthday...

...as well as made me this FANTASTIC memo board!!

Can you say SPOILED??? *wink*

We both read the first book of the series, and decided we HAD to see the movie! She won FREE TICKETS for the movie matinee the day before we went! WOOHOO!!!

So, I figured I needed something for her. I scanned the internet for some HUNGER GAMES graphics and here is what I gave her as we waited for the movie to start....

We had a great day and didn't get home until almost dark!

Fun FOLD Card tips!

Q: I’ve seen some cards with fancy folds made using the Labels Framelits. How do you do that?

A: The new Hearts and Labels Framelits Dies for the Big Shot have been a huge hit! There are so many great ways to use them, besides the obvious layered frames. You can use them to cut edges of cards into shapes, make window cards, make cards with fancy folds, and so much more! One of my favorite fancy folds cards is a Z-Fold card. It’s extra fun because of a cut with the Label Framelits that makes the main image flip to the inside when you open the card!

Here’s how you can make this fun Z-Fold Flip card:

Step 1: Cut a piece of 8-1/2” card stock in half to get a 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” card body. Score at 4-1/4” along the 8-1/2” side to create the folded card. Next, fold the front of the card in half. You can do this by folding the edge of the card back towards the fold of the card or by scoring first at 2-1/8” and then folding the edge of the card back towards the fold of the card.

Step 2: Turn the Multipurpose Platform to Tab 2 and place it onto the Big Shot with a Cutting Pad on it. Unfold the card body you previously scored. Place a Label Framelits (the 3rd largest works well) centered over the fold on the card front. Place the top Cutting Pad only over half of the Label Framelit so the Cutting Pad edge is lined up with the fold line on the center of the card front. Carefully hold the sandwich in place and run through the Big Shot. Only the part of the Framelit with the Cutting Pad over it will be cut.

Step 3: Fold the card and decorate the Framelits section with other Framelits layers and stamped images. When the card is opened, the image flips to the inside of the card. Use Texture Impressions Embossing Folders to add embossing to cut Framelits for even more detail and interest!

Have fun experimenting with this great Z-Fold Flip card using the Framelits Hearts Collection, too!

DID YOU KNOW???

You can use the Bird Punch, #117191 , to punch out the cup handle on the large cup from the TEA SHOPPE stamp set, #125547 ? Use the wing part. Cool, huh?

TOOL TIP: Punching Vellum
Trying to insert vellum into a punch that has a lot of detail can be exasperating! Here is a simple trick that will make it so easy for you!

Supplies:
Stamp Set: #125537 Mixed Bunch
Cardstock: #101856 Card Stock Vellum (20 shts), #100730 Whisper White card stock
Ink: #101731 White Craft Pad
Accessories: #125603 Blossom Punch, #109132 White Embossing Powder, #100005 Heat Tool

Directions:

1. Insert a piece of card stock into the Blossom Punch (about 3 1/2"x 4 1/4")
2. Ink the stamp image with white craft ink and stamp it onto the card stock vellum.
4 Add white embossing powder, and emboss.
5. Slide the embossed vellum into the punch over the white card stock.
6. Pull out the white card stock & punch the vellum piece.

TECHNIQUE: Lined Envelopes

An envelope is the first thing the recipient of your handmade card sees. Besides stamping on the envelope, have you ever thought about jazzing up your envelopes by lining the inside with Designer Series Paper? Here's an easy techniques that will add just a little more of that special touch.

Supplies Used for this Project:

PAPER: Medium Whisper White Envelope #107301
Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper #122350
MISC: 2-Way Glue Pen #100425, Paper Snips #103579, Designer Sanding
Blocks #124304

Directions:

1. Cut a 5-11/16" x 4" piece of Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper. I tried 5-3/4" and 5-5/8" and neither one of those worked as well.
2. Using a 2-Way Glue Pen, add some glue to the inside edge of the envelope flap.
3. Carefully slide the piece of the Berry Blossoms Designer Sereis Paper into the envelope, just enough to cover up the edge. It doesn't need to go all the way down the inside of the envelope. Make sure you have a little overlap on the flap.

4. When the glue dries trim off the excess on the flap. If you don't trim it perfectly, you can take a Designer Sanding Block to finish off the edge.

These are so easy and fast, make a bunch and you'll have them ready to go.

Birthday Card for my friend...

My friend, Ruthie, had a birthday March 30. She and some friends came over the mountain for my scrapbook class Saturday, so, I gave her the gifts and card I had for her.

I am very happy with the way this turned out.

I LOVE the stamp set, Apothecary Art #125527. It goes GREAT with Framelit Dies #125598, for the Big Shot # 113439! I played with my Stampin' Up! markers and colored the image in. I was intimadated by that image, but, it is actually very easy to fill in with color, takes very little time to have a beautiful creation! I LOVE the pleated ribbon #125406, too! It really dressed the card up.

I ran the Wisteria Wonder Cardstock #122922 through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder #120175---I also ran the flap of the envelope through, what an impressive way to dress up the envelope! I destressed all edges of everything with Soft Suede ink #115657, my destress color of choice! I finished it off with a few rhinestones on the image, which was popped up with dimensionals. LOVE this card! I didn't get a picture of the inside before I gave it to her, though, RATS!

Where's your blender??

Your blender pen, silly! I CASE'd these cards from the Stampin' Connection website, for Stampin' Up! demos only (can you imagine--we have over 220,000 projects to look at on there! So many perks to being a part of the Stampin' UP family!!! I LOVE IT!

Anyway, I used the new Apothecary Art stamp set #125525....stamped with black staz-on, so, we could use our markers and blender pens. Then, I used my BIG SHOT *LOVE IT* to cut the flower image out with the new Labels Collection Framelit dies #125598. Then, we used the marker/blender technique to 'color'. All the ladies at the class commented on how fun the coloring part of that card was. I guess we are all young at heart!

The sentiments are from the Loving Thoughts set #125843. And, of course, the designer series paper is the FREE SALE-A-BRATION paper! I did use the Naturals paper for these cards, it seems to have a nice body and feel to it, and, it's also good to use with 'wet' markers, etc. kinda like watercolor paper.

...well, just one day late! hehehe
My downline, Jennifer, and I went 'over the mountain' Wednesday, to have lunch with some friends, after I got my taxes done *****besides a $4300 tax refund, my tax lady is signing up to be a DEMONSTRATOR!!! Guess that says ALOT!*****.

Q: Is the trial version of the software different from the paid version of My Digital Studio Express?

A: No. When you order the My Digital Studio Express Trial, you will receive the full version of My Digital Studio Express. The software will function exactly the same as if you had purchased the software--you can design, purchase downloads, and print. The only difference is that you can only use the trial version for 30 days.



Q: Can I place a print order with the trial version?

A: You can order the My Digital Studio Trial at any time. The trial period is not tied to the calendar. The trial period will begin as soon as you launch the program, and you will be able to use it for the next 30 days.



Q: What happens after the 30 day trial period is over?

A: When you launch the software after the 30 day trial period is over, you will be prompted to enter a product key. You will not be able to use the software again until you have entered a product key. You can get a product key by purchasing My Digital Studio or My Digital Studio Express.



Q: How do I purchase My Digital Studio after the trial period is over?

A: Simply add My Digital Studio (item 118108) or My Digital Studio Express (item 124483) to your next order. If you order My Digital Studio Express, you will not need to reinstall the software. A product key will be e-mailed to you; after you complete your purchase, just enter that product key when the program prompts you to. If you purchase the disc version of My Digital Studio, you will need to use the installation discs in order to access the included digital content. The installation wizard will walk you through the process, including entering the product key (which you’ll receive with your shipped discs). You will not lose any downloads or projects from your 30-day trial period.



Q: What happens to digital downloads I purchase during the 30 day trial period?

A: You will have continued access to any downloads you purchase during the trial period. If you choose to purchase the software, you will simply need to enter a product key, and you will be able to use all your downloads like normal. If you do not purchase the software, you will still have access to your downloads through your download manager, and you will be able to load them to the digital design software of your choice.



Q: Can I use My Digital Studio digital downloads in other design programs?

A: Yes. The My Digital Studio digital downloads will work with any digital design program.



Q: Will my saved projects be lost when the free trial ends?

A: You will not be able to edit any of your projects through My Digital Studio after the trial period has ended unless you purchase the software. If you do chose to purchase the software, you will be able to access all your projects. If you don’t choose to purchase the software, we recommend you save your projects as jpg files. You will then be able to use them like you use any of your jpg (picture) files.



Q: Can I have two free trials?

A: No. The My Digital Studio Express Trial will only work once. After your 30 days are over, you need to purchase the software to continue using the program.



Q: What if I don’t want to purchase the software at the end of the trial period?

A: You can uninstall the software at any time.



Q: Are there other free My Digital Studio downloads available?

A: We do occasionally offer free My Digital Studio downloads. These are generally promotions that run for a short amount of time, and will be announced in a current update. Valentine Class and more Leadership Boards

I went to Show Low, today, and held a small Valentine Special Event Class. They received the CONVERSATION HEARTS Stamp set and made 4 cards. I was a nice relaxed day! I am holding this class in Eagar, on Saturday, the 28th, also.

Aren't these some great ideas!?!? Working at Stampin' Up! must be SO FUN!
