SO HAPPY!! And, Proud!

Our youngest son, who is in the Air Force Reserves, is pinning on another stripe, September 1! He will be a Technical Sergeant, an E-6. This is quite an accomplishment, since he has only had 8 years with the Air Force. Most candidates for this promotion don't make it until their 10th-12th years.
I was excited to make him a very special card. I found some Air Force graphics online, and printed them out. They were the catalyst for the card to come together. This graphic almost looked like metal. You can't tell here, but, another insignia was also cut out and popped up onto the bottom layer.  It looked VERY nice and professional, if I do say so myself! hehehe

This is the first time that I've made one of these inside pop-up cards. It's not perfect, but, it works. I have 2 of the graphics together, one popped up onto the bottom. It looked very nice.
And, here is the finished inside. JTB are his intials, but, we have a special saying with them, and, he will know what they mean.
He may think it's all hokey, until he finds the $100 check I slipped in!
He is in Northern California, too far from home, but, he can go do some celebrating with the money.
He makes us SO SO proud!!!

25 pounds later & an Ornament

Remember, the other day, when I mentioned working on 25 pounds of peaches?
Well, here are the results of some 'hard labor'. WHEW!

All together, I made an 8 x 8 peach cobbler, 2 'handpies, perserved 216 oz. of yummy jam (20 jars), 4 mini peach pies, 4 custard-bowl sized peach cobblers, 2 small bread tin-sized peach cobblers, and I also used the peels to make 8 cups of peach syrup!!! My freezer and pantry are nicely stuffed! Me, too, with all the fresh peaches I ate as I worked. I did all of it over a 3 day period. The first day, I was 'whupped'! Hopefully, I'll be rested and ready to go when Apple Season starts!
So, how do you like my Christmas Ornament?
Look at the size of that! These would be a great tree ornament, wine bottle adornment or bag tag.
I am having a class, if you are interested. You'll get to use your BIG SHOT for this one!
Don't have a BIG SHOT??? I know where you can get one! LOL
I use my BIG SHOT every day that I craft! Love My BIG SHOT!
You will need to order the Stamp Set and Framelits BUNDLE from my website, and, then, I will send you the photo tutorial, so, you can make as many as you want!
You'll need to order either the Clear Mount or Wood Mount. Plus, when you order this bundle, you'll save 15% off the normal price!! AWESOME!
**If you ordered a BIG SHOT and the items needed for this project,
you would also get $25 HOSTESS FREE CREDIT!**

WHAT exactly is a FAT QUARTER???

I thought you might be interested in what exactly a FAT QUARTER of fabric is, and why they are so popular.
---Even if you don’t sew,
they are great for CRAFT PROJECTS, JAR TOPPERS, and GIFTS!---
People that do sew, are very impressed with the quality of the STAMPIN’ UP! fabric.

What Is a Yard of Fabric?
A yard of fabric is cut to be 36" long as it comes off of a bolt (the piece of cardboard that fabric is typically wrapped around). Fabric width has varied over the years, but most of today's quilting cottons measure 42" to 44" across their width (from selvage to selvage).
REMEMBER: Stampin’ Up! fabric is 56”
What Is a Regular Quarter Yard?
A regular quarter yard is 1/4th of a yard, or 9" long and as wide as the fabric -- such as 9" x 44". Regular quarter-yard cuts can be useful for strip piecing, when long strips of fabric are sewn together and cut into segments.
What Is a Fat Quarter?
A fat quarter is a one-fourth yard cut of fabric that (usually) measures 18" x 22" instead of the typical 9" x 44" quarter-yard cut. The longest side's dimension will vary if your fabric is not 44" wide.
REMEMBER: Stampin’ Up! fabric is 56”
Why Would I Want a Fat Quarter of Fabric? Look at the illustration and you'll see that a fat quarter gives you the opportunity to cut larger chunks of fabric than would be possible from a regular quarter-yard, including strips that are twice as long on the fabric's (less stretchy) lengthwise grain.
A fat quarter offers more versatility, whether it's for patchwork or appliqué. Fat quarters are very popular. You can use fat quarters for strip piecing by making extra strip sets from shorter lengths of fabric until you've cut the number of segments required for the pattern.
What will YOU make with your Stampin' Up! Fat Quarters??
RUN to my webstore to get yours before they are all gone!
There is also other fabric for sale, in our current catalog, or on the left side of the link.

Lots to share 2 day!

Wow! I have been on a roll lately, so, I better keep it going.
I have been at the little house, creating, quite a bit lately. Sanity through 2 at home, unemployed...meh.
I needed some lil Thank You cards for my CLUB orders, and, I also slip them into my AVON orders.
I saw this online *let me know if it's one of your creations* and HAD to make these! Too cute!
And, we KNOW how I love multiples!
I also needed some other cards, for my weekly SNAIL MAIL.
Then, I saw another fun item, on the web *let me know if this is your idea*, so, I thought I would make some of these up, for a future class. {Will I EVER use up all my Crushed Curry Cardstock or the Razzberry Lemondade Designer Series Paper?!? I *heart* the CLEARANCE RACK!}
It folds up.....
and, holds 4 cute 3 x 3 cards and envelopes.
Well, I'm off to finish 25 pounds of peaches!

Samsung Galaxy SIII + Stampin' UP! = LOVE

When I came home from my very FIRST Stampin' UP! Convention, this past July, I figured it was about time to 'get with the program' as far as technology and 'stuff'. So, since our 37th anniversary was approaching, I talked hubby into getting me a NEW PHONE for my gift *which we rarely do gifts, since we pretty much get what we want when we want or need it*. I have been very apprehensive to get a phone or Ipad that is smarter than me, but, I fell in love with the large screen on the Samsung Galaxy SIII and decided it was 'time' to upgrade.

Now, that I really feel smart, I finally got to do something I've been wanting to for a long time....
Check this out!
And, my little circle punch from Stampin' Up! worked perfectly to punch the holes out for the speaker, camera and light.
Yeah, I LOVE my phone!!!
And, just think---my phone and monthly data package are a TAX DEDUCTION!!!
Yeah, I LOVE 'my job'!
and take advantage of the HALLOWEEN SPECIAL!!
Thanks for your visit!
